  • To have a familiarity with our existing build system from working directly with the current build engineer.

After 3 months:

  • Own and administer source control systems (Perforce, Plastic, Git), ensuring smooth rollouts and rapid troubleshooting.

  • Collaborate across disciplines—engineering, QA, production—to ensure efficient and reliable build and deployment pipelines.

  • Troubleshoot build failures with urgency, unblocking development teams and minimizing downtime.

  • Automate packaging, versioning, and distribution of builds to keep delivery consistent and secure.

  • Monitor and optimize build performance, reducing build times and resource consumption.

  • Maintain and update Unreal Engine source builds and custom plugins, ensuring stability and compatibility.

  • Safeguard build environments so they are reproducible, secure, and well-documented.

Qualifications

  • Proven expertise with Unreal Engine (UE4/UE5) build systems and workflows.

  • Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, or NodeJS.

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, TeamCity).

  • Deep understanding of source control systems including Perforce, Plastic, and Git.

  • Familiarity with game release pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and live ops tooling.

  • Cross-platform build experience across Windows, macOS, Linux, and consoles.

  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills, with a track record of resolving complex technical challenges.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Knowledge of cloud-based build systems (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Full lifecycle experience—setup, deployment, and post-release support.

  • Direct experience shipping titles on first-party platforms (Switch, Xbox, PlayStation, PC).
