Despite the description of Radiant mode I don’t see any improvement to the number of healers showing up on the coach. I’m still having to abandon games every single time because at some point one of three things happens:

    * I have a workable vestal but the only tank available is an abomination.

    * My only healer is in no shape for another expedition

    * I have no tank available at all. Most tanks are also effective damage dealers but the reverse isn’t usually true. I have never finished a dungeon in Darkest mode without at least one tank – I would use nothing but healers and tanks if not for stress buildup.

    Possible solutions:

    * Lose the whole holy/non-holy conflict mechanic or add a workaround. Perhaps a religious character could simply take more stress from being in a party with an “undesirable”.

    * Add a wildcard to the coach that let’s you choose from tank, dd or healer categories. A random character that fills the bill would appear (best option IMO). The wildcard could either count towards the max characters on the coach or be in addition to them.

    * When you dismiss a character it gives you a wildcard slot as described above that doesn’t count towards max characters on coach. You MUST choose your wildcard category before you can dismiss another character from the roster. Having both of the wildcard options I’ve described would be welcome (if the devs didn’t feel it was too forgiving).

I’m sure the devs can think of other ways to keep us from needing to start over for no good reason. I personally subscribe to the “less grind, more content” school of game appreciation.

These posts still crop up around here? They were all the rage in Early Access but I figured by now they’d be gone.

Unless you’re playing New Ga… er… Stygian mode, there is ZERO reason to abandon a save. You are ALWAYS better off in your current save than you would be starting the tutorial missions over again. Unless they vastly changed the game and it’s possible now to literally not be able to go out in a week.

Try reading my post again, more slowly. See the VERY FIRST PART where it mentions how you often can’t get four characters who will party? If you know a way around that little problem, feel free to share.

Yeah, it’s still an issue. I had a save where I only had 4 characters and one was an abomination and another a vestal. There’s no way to start a dungeon with only 3 toons, and there’s now way to get access to more toons. An ability to “skip” a week would be helpful, lose a % of your total gold pile to “maintenance” or something and then you get a new set of stage coach recruits.

I also agree that something like a +% stress modifier for a vestal or leper being in a party with an abomination instead of a flat “you can’t do that” nonsense. As it is I always ending having my abomination the last class to hit level 6 because I never use them. Occultist heals have screwed me over too many times. Healing for zero once at the wrong moment can lose you a character. It’s never worth the risk vs. guaranteed 11-14 single target healing or 20-28 party healing per round with the vestal. I’d love to use them more but it’s not fun or worth the risk.
