I’ve been loving Darkest Dungeon since I first got to play it, and I wanted to try make something from the world. The family crest really grabbed my attention, though I wasn’t sure about my ability to make the raven mounting, so I decided to do something a little different. I decided this is a much older version of the crest from early in the family history before they mounted it on a raven that would be worn like Man-at-Arms’ medal.
This was super simple to make and a nice, fun project. My material was 10mm thick sheet plastic with putty, enamel, acrylic, & oil paints. This was porous & soft under the heat sealed layer which wasn’t ideal, but I’m satisfied with the result.
Edit: I’m having trouble putting the image in the post, so I’m just going to link to it on Flickr. I’m sorry about sending you off site, but I hope you’ll check it out regardless.
Thanks guys. I didn’t really do anything all that original here; I simply used this from the town menu, cropped, resized and then sketched it out on a loose grid before transferring to plastic (hence the asymmetry of the final product).
This is about 98*110mm (4*4.5″) so it’s actually kind of big for what it is. I’m thinking of making a more accurate version closer to what’s depicted above. Which would be bigger from wing to wing, but the crest would be smaller. I won’t lie, I didn’t notice that the affliction halo was built into the crest until you mentioned it. Kind of obvious now that I see it! Still, this was a fun little build and anyone could make their own.
