This thread will essentially mimic the other Ruins thread, itt will allow another expedition to expedite into the Ruins without clustering the OG thread.
This thread should not be used unless the main thread is occupied.

That being said, basics apply here; follow general honor-code rules. More acute rulings will be dictated by other DM’s. Other DM actions may or may not lend precedence to a current issue, depending on circumstances.

The Scholar stood at the gates, a small colorful leather pack placed at his feet. His hands were entirely hidden in the silky sleeves of his robes that billowed in the bitter wind of winter’s last breaths before the solstice.

The Elder furrowed his grey brows, watching intently as he spied his companions walking down the road towards them. Stooping with a small huff of disgruntlement directed at the protests his aged knees gave, the Occultist took up his dog’s skull fetish and stroked its nose as affectionately as he might have done when the creature had significantly more meat on its muzzle. “So it begins my old friend.” He whispered lovingly to the long dead beast.

    Cassandra:
She made her way to the old man through the fog. Slowly walking up to him and when she reached the top, stopped to take a look about.
    “Looks like we came first.”

    did I let you die?"

    Montaigu:

The masked doctor was the next to arrive, raising one hand in a wave even though her beaked silhouette was obvious enough in the fog. She made no sound save for the crunching of sturdy boots on hard ground as she approached.

“Greetings, both of you,” she murmured, testing the weight of the provisions against her shoulder. The Heir had been no more generous than usual with the manifest of supplies, or so she’d been led to believe… Special interest or not, they would need to be cautious.

Rames recognized a small gathering of people, Montaigu included, a little ways off. He gathered the bolts he had shot into the gnarled tree, then sauntered up to them. “I’m here! Not late, I was just…” He pointed behind off himself and shrugged. “Rames Collier.” He introduced himself with a subtle nod to the woman he hadn’t met before.

The Scholar opened the pack, revealing to the group the supplies they had.

(6 Torches, 8 food, 1 Shovel, 1 Skeleton Key and if Monti adds her Antivenom to the pile we have that too!)

He watched them all calculatingly as they slowly huddled together. “We have much work to do, if someone could shoulder the burden of the pack I would find that quite amicable…” He offered with little explanation, they didn’t need to hear about his old bones.

“Some of the corridors I ‘saw’ are seemingly quite narrow, I realize my task is guidance… I will keep to making sure our torch burns bright but someone else should lead the way, I shall of course direct.”

    Cassandra:
She nodded taking his hand and pointing to the crossbow.
“I’m Cassandra, will you be looking after my rear with that big thing?”
    WHY?

    Montaigu:

She looked between the assembled trio – it made sense that the scholar would stay back and direct, and the hefty armament Rames carried meant that he would be best off bringing up the rear too. But then that left…

Maybe if I hold the pack and Cassandra goes first? But then… Cassandra may have had her pistols but was there any close-quarters weaponry between the four of them? The doctor knew she had her scalpels, razor-sharp and indeed designed for cutting human flesh… But was that all?

“I’ll… take the front, then?” Her voice was halting – she was no leader, but she supposed this crazy idea was hers to begin with.

“Heh. Yes ma’am.” The hunter chuckled as he moved into place, holding the crossbow level at his waist. “Don’t worry, I’ll cover your asses.” He answered with a cheeky grin. He looked over his shoulder to the occultist, who didn’t appear at all amused. “Well, where are we going, then?”

The Scholar was less than impressed so far, it was apparent that half of the group were likely incapable of grasping the nature and immediacy of the situation. “For the religious potentially among you, it may a good time to pray.” Was all the old fellow said. For all it is worth.

Nobody had volunteered to carry their supplies either, with a graceful stoop the Mystic shouldered the groups supply pack resisting the urge to grunt as his knees protested. “The gate is here.” Slowly, carefully the Occultist parted some flora that has grown over the disheveled entryway. “After you, Doctor.” Politely he stood to the side, pointing in to the blackness.

    Cassandra:
She drew her sword and took position.
“Remember to keep protection with yourselves.”

    Montaigu:

“…Very well, then…” She’d hoped someone would tell her that it was foolish, and that they would take the lead. No such luck, it would seem… Her hand instinctively ranged over the pouches and vials she had in the many folds and pockets of her garb – things to burn, blind, hurt or, with any luck, heal. She hoped that they would be enough, as she stepped through the gateway and into the foreboding depths. “Follow close, everyone.”

It’s alright. I’ve been below in the past, and I survived without lasting damage. The thought seemed robust enough as she conjured it in her mind, and she let it anchor her as she took the first steps into uncertainty once again.

He let Cassandra go on behind the doctor, before falling in line himself. “Uh, here…” Rames turned a glance over his shoulder and reached to take the supplies from the other man, who seemed he would be troubled enough without a hefty weight on him. He could handle the pack himself, since all he really needed to do was point and shoot.

(PorkyLabrador: “Ruins people (for the dungeon I am meant to be running): Assume that there was an impassable piece of wreckage so the party had to hold off on that expedition.”)

“Perfectly exciting that was!” Rames scoffed rudely, kicking a few stones from the base of a huge wall of rubble that blocked their path. They had hardly ventured a hallway or so in the forgotten cold, stone walkways of the ruins, but now they were cut off from their goal. “Fuckin’ great.” The arbalest shook his head and turned back. “Well?”

The hellion brushed off her shoulders as she scuttled through the woods back toward location she’d previously visited. Some leaves and twigs were scratched from her hair, and she put her hand to her hip as she looked over the looming, decaying figure of the old establishment.

“Maybe we will find skellington again. Let us hunt!” She said valiantly, charging rather blindly into the darkened hallways once again, bardiche pointed forward.
