Ancestor surendered to temptations of Chaos and became a demon of his own. Judging by some obvious hints in the game, like human cultists, the last dungeon aka D.D is most likely going to be a demon infested place.

I would not mind seeing some demonic enemies, but honestly I have no clue what to expect out of the enemies there. Every area seems to be bent toward a specific atmosphere or genre in horror than put through the lense of a Lovecraftian perspective. Think about it.

The Ruins: a gothic series of crypts and decrepit mansions. Naturally these are than filled with the undead, gargoyles, an inhuman sorcerer, and a ghoulish prophet who foretells doom on our hero. Seems to have a vaguely Poe/ Tim Burton minus the endearing quirkiness vibe.

The Weald: creepy forest with a graveyard, wolves, witches, murderous thieves, monsters, and a cannibal. We all have heard stories about why you shouldn’t go into the woods.

The Warrens: underground tunnels structured like a massive slaughterhouse or a torture chamber out of a slasher flick. Gotta be honest. Not sure where the pig men came from. Maybe somebody played Amnesia or read some trippy Batman comics with Pyg.

    The Cove: Innsmouth meets Atlantis.

I would suspect eldritch abominations out of the Darkest Dungeon, but after seeing the shambler I’m not sure what else these enemies would look like. Shoggoth maybe? I’d love to hear anybody else’s thoughts.

I actually had a concept for a cursed/dark wretched woman class written out in my head.

I think making the Abomination female would be an interesting idea.

I hope we won’t fight big Chtulhu as final boss…

I have faith in Red Hook that they not will deliver something as banal as that. There main shtick as far as boss design goes is to take a very simple, often romanticized archetype and make it as grotesque as possible. Even the original drawing that HP Lovecraft himself made of Cthulhu looked much more interesting than the typical two eyed images of him. Although, there are a few out there with two eyes that look amazing.

If the last boss isn’t Wayne June himself then I quit.

Not even your Ancestor, just Wayne June himself, having followed you to the depths of the dungeon, just behind you (ever wonder how he’s watching you, or why backtracking is so terrifying?)

It’d be nice, if they haven’t already, if they could make a statement as to how much game content is currently being held back for release. The Darkest Dungeon not counting.

If they don’t flesh out the game and add enough randomized content to allow it to at least comparative to similar games, it won’t gain much ground. It takes a certain type of person to be able to willingly do something extremely repetitious, and pay for it. The reason why simple little games acting like big games don’t get shot down is because they have enough randomization to keep them entertaining. The game currently has near to no randomization or anything else, eventually people will start looking past the unique aspects of the game and realize as a game it’s really thin. Cthulhu help Red Hook if that happens.

Yes, this is one of the main issues I adressed in my thread. I honestly wouldn’t expect anything beyond the addition of Darkest Dungeon and minor fixes. They will hopefully add more meat through a DLC.

Seriously, really? No one knows when the PS4 version is released, or no one cares?

Well, the title of this thread is a hint – but it doesn’t say anything about platforms. So assume only PC at this point?
