I have over 200 hours in this game now, still I can barely wait to play the full release. It’s a piece of art.
Could you tell me which timezone is the 10AM release? Is it similar to the patch timing previously?

So this is how the darkest dungeon looks like. I thought it’d look more like a gothic palace filled with looming darkness, but this is better in it’s own way.
    Also “We are the Flame!”.
And, are those the miners the ancestor hired? (he mentioned that only he escaped from the thing the portal summoned)

Well, this is it. The game has been on the crutches of Early Access awhile so the reviews have been concentrated and brief. Now that it’s going to be a full release if it doesn’t bring enough content to justify its price and the way it acts about its own size, it’s going to completely tank. The unique art-style and “unique” game mechanics are bedazzling in an early access game but not in a full release if it has no real game-play to back it up.

    Well, soon we’ll find out.

If you don’t already like what you see so far, you will not enjoy the final product. I’m sorry you are not pleased with the game that you bought.

That said, I will want to congratulate the team on their fine work which I did enjoy as soon as the launch is finally here. Probably in the actual launch thread later. There’s also something I’ve been meaning to ask which may be relevant to the sequel…

I respect all opinions. If you feel like the game has not enough content by your standards that’s perfectly fine. However I think I got an excellent game compared to many other products in much higher price category.

Someone just pointed out to me that starting at about 0.44 on the video, there is a shot of a party with the Abomination and the Crusader in the same party fighting the Shambler. Hope this is indicative of some changes.

Actually I was referring to the games’ lack of randomization and diversity which is characteristic of its genre, which the game has shown no signs of ever getting even close to fulfilling leading to its very bare-bones state even for an Early Access. My statement made no reference to my personal view of the game or to the condition of the actual nature of the game itself, merely to the amount of content the game has and currently is showing signs of having. I’m so glad you took the time to make an ignorant comment that is completely void because you didn’t even understand what either of us were talking about and furthermore were too lazy to even try to get clarification. It’s great that I had to waste my time replying to this pointlessness just because your ignorance made my original comment sound like it was talking about something I wasn’t talking about at all. Bye.

    Well, soon we’ll find out.

Meanwhile Starwars Battlefront exists that commands a AAA pricetag.
The Call of Duty Series exists and has been stripped down to a bare essentials story and multiplayer in which you purchase map packs
Elder Scrolls online exists and was not only premium pricetag, but also cost a subscription fee for over a year

There are many games out there with huge development budgets that don’t deliver a full experience, Darkest Dungeon is not one of them.

Edit: As for “lack of randomisation”, this is what is known as the Min/Max playstyle, its a mindset that only one playstyle rules over all others.

I find myself using lots of different setups and the randomization is just fine.

Why so aggressive?… the poster who made a comment to yours said nothing mean or cruel, yet you called him/her ignorant and lazy.
How was he/her to know that what you were meaning when, just now in your second post, you clarified “Actually I was referring to…”, then you go on to berate them? Bye.

I wonder if they change the base, or maybe it’s a condition of him being “Faithless”? Loses his religion, gains compassion? Interesting nonetheless.

    cheers.

So, the tiny peak at 0:54 Darkest Dungeon reveals it to be a literall traditional view of Hell, from what I saw. And one type of enemy seems to be crazed humans, perhaps the miners and others who helped with the excavations? The upper left part of screen where objective is also shows ” Horror ” which i assume means Defeat__ Horror. I so wonder what other types of enemies will the area contain.

Actually you referred to the quantity of content, price, unique art style , unique graphics and some nebulas unexplained “how it acts about its size” , but note again size not randomness. you never referred to either randomness or diversity. True you didnt explicitly state your personal view, but in the void of that information i think its fair to take from the tone and use of ” around unique your implicitly coming across as down on the game.

His comment was neither ignorant of void and he did understand what you wrote, but it appears you did not. and its not lazy to not ask for clarification when something is perfectly clear, its redundant. and again when you aren’t talking about what you think your talking about people actually understanding you correctly isnt ignorance, not being able to express yourself in an understandable way is.

It certainly looks hellish from that single shot, but I’m also curious to see what the rest of its layout looks like. Definitely the music as well. Small thing to note, but those enemies seemed like they had eyes in their abdomens. Plus they seem to be in loincloths, so perhaps they’re actually from a much earlier time than the Ancestor’s excavations. Could be wrong, but just a thought.

Every time I’ve seen you post you’ve just been a giant pompous asshole to perfectly fine, polite people. Why you conduct yourself like that I have no clue, but it doesn’t make you seem witty or intelligent. You’re perfectly entitled to your opinions and I wouldn’t say they’re without justification, but there is no use putting up this edgy self-important act and it only makes people just kind of sigh, roll their eyes when they see your avatar in future threads, and scroll on by.
