These wouldn’t be possible without an amazing collaboration with Trudi Castle. Each of these comics are written by our very own Chris Bourassa and Trudi is bringing them to life. Trudi has an amazing portfolio and we couldn’t be more excited for this collaboration.

This will be the final comic before the holidays. As we get closer to launch we will start sharing these tales with you all again.

This just looks epic. Much grander than the last two I think. Which makes sense given the tone of each of these characters.

What is the significance of the tattered green flag? Was it the physical representation of safety, the point where he and the boy would survive if they managed to reach? Was it a false friend, giving hope that would only lead to further despair? Or was it a marker for artillery, which the man-at-arms saw and recognized too late?

Whatever it was, it certainly adds flavour to this characters backstory.

Do I understand correctly that the MaA was knocked out with that artillery hit and was the sole survivor on his side? A more ordinary background, but still rough. And how the guy he was carrying around with him didn’t make it.

I imagine that most of the classes, save for those which explicitly have supernatural powers, had never encountered this type of evil before the Darkest Dungeon. As horrible as it is, murdering a mother and her child is no less mundane than this.

The soldier the MaA was trying to rescue was his own son. XD

Did anyone else notice that the broken wheel next to the green banner looks like that same arc symbol all over the game?

The last set of images is a bit confusing and I can’t really tell what’s going on. Did the dude Man-at-arms was helping died or what?

@Argus- Arc symbol? what do you mean?

I’m thinking he died. The broken wheel next to the green flag reminds of the arc which shows up constantly in the game. I meant the stress symbol, swine flag, Necromancer’s collar etc. Not sure how intentional it was, but it reminded me of that.

@arguseyedoracle, sometimes wheel is just a wheel.

You do not knwo redhook if you think to them a wheel is just a wheel TwT They probably plan on using that wheel as a main plot point in the story.

The wheel does not look like the blasphemous symbol of the Thing beneath the manor. It’s just a wheel. While it can be somewhat simillar becouse the symbol is is a half circle with inward spikes, in the picture I can’t find any direct resemblence.

I just realized what’s going on; he’s not the only survivor of his side, he’s the only survivor!

    Hey guys,

Did you all noticed that when he get a crit, the Man-at-Arms will often say things like “This line will not break” or “Now that’s a proper flanking” ?

This is refering to this terrible batle, it must be because he’s traumatised from this fight. But still, seeing the banner holding up, it gave him hope and motivation to still fight afainst the evil lurking near the hamlet.

My soul is silver, my heart is gold,
Shining to erase the darkness of my thoughts...
